*Mom's note: With spring here the kids have been spending more time outside, and less time playing with LEGO. But today LEGO Town is back on the kitchen table! Before it gets put away we will tell you some more Stories From Our LEGO Town :)
After watching The LEGO Movie the kids got excited about building "awesome" stuff without instructions. They also wanted to be like Emmet and make things that would "save the day". You can see what Little Man built here, and what Munchkin built here. Today's post will show you some of the creations that Princess has been making since watching The LEGO Movie.
Even though Munchkin was a little scared by certain parts in The LEGO Movie when we went to see it, with her brother and sister both slightly obsessed with it, she has joined them. All three children have been pumping out "awesome" creations that will "save the day", just like Emmet in the movie :) Here are some of Munchkin's new creations.
Have you seen The LEGO Movie yet? We rarely go to the movie theater, but we had to take the kids to see The LEGO Movie :) Our 9 year old loved it! Our 4 year old spent most of it on our laps and our 6 year old also felt that some parts were "a little scary", but he has also asked if we can buy it so he can watch it again. After watching the movie LEGO Town has been filled with "awesome" projects that will "save the day". There are also some new names in LEGO Town, like Emmet :) Today I will share Little Man's "awesome" creation that he made after watching The LEGO Movie.
This will be our last post where we show you what we have been doing with the ebook, Brick Animals. The next post will be a review of the whole book itself.
If you are new to Stories From Our LEGO Town, let me explain what we have been doing lately. The kids have joined the affiliate program for Educating Laytons Brick Ebooks. Stef and Jake Layton, a mother and son team, have written several brick ebooks and blessed us with a free copy of their ebook, Brick Animals, to review. The children have each tried several of the projects in the book and they have each posted about two of their Brick Animal projects.
Educating Laytons have blessed us with a free copy of their ebook, Brick Animals!
We are using it in our homeschool for part of our science program right now. In previous posts we have shared with you how the children copied the pictures from Brick Animals to make their animals just like Jake did in the ebook. This time when we looked at the ebook I encouraged them to be more creative and make the brick animals with their own unique twist.

The kids are trying the projects in Brick Animals and we will share them with you as we go through them. You can find a complete list of the kid's Brick Animal projects here. For this post, Munchkin made a ladybug.
