*Mom's note: We have been learning about volcanoes in our homeschool lately. Our first volcano LEGO project was actually an accident :) The kid's LEGO Town was at one end of the table and we were doing volcano experiments at the other end of the table. One of our volcanoes erupted more forcefully than we were expecting and LEGO Town became a miniature replica of the town of Pompeii that we had read about :)
Today, Munchkin decided to build a volcano out of LEGO. Here is her volcano and what she had to say about it.
The red stuff coming out of the top is lava erupting from the volcano. The red stuff around the volcano is more lava. The grey part is ash. There are flowers growing on the side of the volcano because the soil around volcanoes is full of wonderful nutrients (years after an eruption!) so these plants are starting to grow there.
